Mt. Charleston - South Loop Trailhead

This trail is a steep climb from Cathedral Rock trail head. It weaves toward Echo Canyon, the trail traverses an avalanche chute lined with quaking aspen. After 4 miles you reach the junction for Griffith Peak Trail. The trail then has a slow climb through a meadow. Around the 6 mile mark, the trail crosses the timberline, leaving the bristlecone pines. The final stretch is a strenuous ½ mile climb to a gorgeous view from Charleston Peak summit.
