Las Vegas Attractions

Best Attractions in Las Vegas, Nevada

You probably won’t find any other city like Las Vegas in the world. It’s a place filled with casinos, hotels and restaurants, but also caters to families and couples. It’s one of the few cities you can visit, gamble in, get married in and all while being surrounded by nature. You can take your kids there for a day, but you can also go wild with friends at night! To get the most out of your trip to Sin City, there are some things you should know about it before you go so that you can make the most of your time there. Although it might seem like an impossible task to keep track of all the different hotels, restaurants and bars in such a large city – we have got you covered. Here are our top recommendations on where to stay, what to eat, what shows to see and more when visiting Las VEGAS!

Top Las Vegas Attraction: Hoover Dam

The Hoover Dam continues to be one of the most popular attractions in Las Vegas. It’s about an hour-long drive from the city, and is not only an amazing man-made structure, but also a testament to the power of nature. It’s important to keep in mind that you will need to book tickets online in advance, as they often sell out. The tour is self-guided, and lasts about an hour. The Dam tour is usually offered at 10 AM, 1 PM and 3 PM. You’ll learn about the construction of the Dam, as well as its history, while also getting great views of the Colorado River. It’s one of the few places in Las Vegas where you can see the beauty of the desert, and get away from the city sprawl.

Family Friendly Las Vegas Attractions: The Adventuredome

For those with kids, or for those who want a break from the casinos, the Adventuredome at Circus-Circus is a great way to spend a couple of hours. The indoor theme park includes a roller coaster, a carousel, an arcade, and many other rides, slides, and activities. Normally, tickets are $19.99 for adults and $10 for children, and children under 48” tall get in for free. The Adventuredome is open from 10 AM to midnight during the week and 10 AM to 11 PM on the weekends. It is just a short walk from the Strip.

Most Popular Las Vegas Attraction: The Grand Canyon

You don’t have to travel far from Las Vegas to see one of the natural wonders of the world. While the Grand Canyon is a popular destination for tourists, it is still worth the trip, especially when you consider the short drive from Las Vegas. You can take a tour to the Grand Canyon, but you also have the option of driving there yourself. The drive is about 4 hours, and costs around $50 in gas. There is also the option of taking a bus, or helicopter, if you don’t have a car or are pressed for time.

Most-Visited Las Vegas Attraction: Welcome to Las Vegas Sign

There is no better place to start your visit to Las Vegas than by heading to the Welcome to Las Vegas sign. It’s considered a must-visit for tourists, and is a great photo-op. There are two ways to get to the Sign. If you have time, you can drive there. It’s about 35 miles away from the Strip, so allow yourself at least an hour and a half to get there. If you don’t have a car, or simply don’t want to drive, there is a shuttle service that will take you there and back for $8 per person round-trip.

Other Cool Things to do on the Strip

- Fremont Street Experience - This three-block pedestrian street is where things were wild and crazy before the Strip became the main attraction. There are many casinos to explore, as well as restaurants, bars, and street performers. - Boulder City - This is a small town just outside Las Vegas, and it’s worth visiting for the Hoover Dam, and Lake Mead. - Red Rock Canyon - This is another great option for nature lovers, and is about 45 minutes from the city. You should make sure to get there early, as it gets busy. It’s a great place to hike, bike, or take a guided tour. - Lake Mead - This is one of the largest man-made lakes in the world, and is a great place to go kayaking, or take a tour on a paddle boat or water taxi. There is also a wildlife sanctuary on the lake, where you can see birds and other animals native to the area.

What’s New in Las Vegas?

- Our first recommendation is to visit the Neon Museum in Downtown Las Vegas. There you can explore the history of Las Vegas through the vintage neon signs of the city, which have been preserved and will be on display. - If you are more into foodie-type tours, there are some great new food tours in Las Vegas. The Culinary Tour of Las Vegas takes you all around the city to try different types of food, and the Culinary Walk of Downtown takes you on a walking tour of Downtown and Fremont Street with stops at five restaurants. - The third recommendation is the Mob Experience at the Tropicana Hotel. This is the largest casino in Las Vegas, and the Mob Experience is an interactive exhibition where you can explore the Mob’s impact on Las Vegas.

Tried and true Vegas Hotels on the Strip

- If you are looking for low-key hotels on the Strip, then you will find them in the Luxor, Excalibur, Circus-Circus, and New York-New York hotels. - If you want to be in the middle of the action, there are several hotels for you to choose from. The Bellagio, Wynn, Paris, and Caesar’s Palace are all great options. - If you and your friends want to stay in one place and see as much as you can while you are in Las Vegas, the best option is to stay at the SLS Las Vegas. It’s in the middle of the Strip, and has a free shuttle to take you to any other hotel in the vicinity.

Where to shop in Las Vegas

- If you want to shop for souvenirs, there are many gift shops in the hotels on the Strip. You can also visit The Forum Shops at Caesar’s Palace, or the Grand Bazaar at the SLS Las Vegas. - If you are looking for some high-end shopping, we suggest visiting the Wynn Las Vegas, and the Venetian and Palazzo shopping malls. - If you want to shop for vintage, or if you are looking for items made with repurposed materials, we suggest visiting The Container Park, and Downtown Las Vegas.

There is a lot to do and see in Las Vegas, and no matter if you are visiting for a couple of days, or a couple of weeks, there is something for everyone.
