About Spring Mountain Ranch State Park

Sprawling and splendid, Spring Mountain Ranch State Park is adjacent to the Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area and has been used historically as a working ranch and a luxury retreat by a string of colorful owners, including German actress Vera Krupp and millionaire Howard Hughes. Today visitors can explore some of the oldest buildings in Nevada, a 1860s blacksmith shop, the Sandstone Cabin that was home to the founding family and the ranch house. Hiking trails throughout the park, in addition to tree-shaded picnic sites with tables and grills, make day trips to the park a family favorite. And, every year Super Summer Theatre offers a variety of outdoor shows to enjoy.

25 Minutes from downtown Las Vegas - we've got lush grass and cool shade in a desert oasis. Come for a hike, picnic, or a taste of Nevada history.

Outdoor theater, hiking, and picnicking are all possible amid sprawling ranch land. Nevada State Parks Administrator Bob Mergell. I wish you a memorable experience at one of the parks. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach me, or any of the park employees, because we truly care about making your experience memorable. Bob Mergell Administrator

There is not much you can do or see unless your a keen hiker. To learn more about the Ranch House's history, we did visit it. It is not worth the entry fee for the park.

Small state park with easy hikes and accessibility to tour the inside of the ranch home. Limited viewing of animals but we were there in the off season

Gorgeous views and short hiking trails. Go before it s too hot. There isn t a lot of shade on the trail. Great picnic areas in the meadow with bathrooms. Bring a Frisbee for extra fun!

It was smaller than I had expected. I visited in January, and all was dead. I would recommend this ranch to anyone with children. The bathrooms were nice and clean. There was ample space for picnicking.
