The quaint neighborhood Nathaniel Jones Park that opened in 2012 has become a homeowner favorite. Residents stop by to play basketball on the lighted court, stroll or jog on the walking trail, play with their kids in the shaded tot lot and splash pad, enjoy a picnic in the grass, or just appreciate the wonderful outdoor setting.
Dog owners and their pets also now enjoy the new dog park featuring three fenced areas: one recommended for large pets, another for small pets and an area for all pets at the discretion of owners. This “park within a park” also has benches, trees and personalized bricks from residents.
In keeping with the Mountain’s Edge tradition of honoring early Las Vegas Valley pioneers, Nathaniel Jones Park is named for the supervisor of one of the region’s first large-scale projects. When lead and silver reserves were discovered at nearby Potosi Mountain, Nathaniel Jones was sent by Brigham Young to oversee a mining operation in conjunction with the creation of a nearby Mormon outpost and fort in 1855.
Nathaniel Jones Park is a huge neighborhood park inside Mountain's Edge community in Las Vegas with a playground, splash pad and a dog park.
