Celebrate the holidays with a cherished Southern Nevada tradition - the Magical Forest at Opportunity Village! The Magical Forest is a winter wonderland with millions of sparkling lights, nightly entertainment, great food and endless holiday cheer.

History

Established in 1992.

The Magical Forest supports Opportunity Village. Opportunity Village is a not-for-profit organization serving adults in the southern Nevada community with intellectual and related disabilities, to enhance their lives and the lives of the families who love them. Opportunity Village is dedicated to helping people become the very best they can be. Through vocational training, community employment, day services, advocacy, arts and social recreation, citizens with severe disabilities are able to find new friends, realize future career paths, seek independence and community integration and unleash creative passions.

From bright lights to finely-decorated trees, The Magical Forest at Opportunity Village truly embodies the enchanting spirit of the holidays.

Opportunity Village was founded in 1954 to help people with disabilities become their best selves. They can find new friends and pursue future careers, make connections, get involved in community work, access day services and arts, as well as develop their creative talents. Opportunity Village is supported by our signature events, social enterprises and generous community donors. We are able to empower, employ, and serve people with disabilities, positively impacting their lives. Opportunity Village has four campuses for employment training and also owns a Thrift Store.

It hosts many of the best fundraisers and special events in Las Vegas including the Magical Forest and HallOVeen. Opportunity Village has the unique opportunity to provide nearly 3.7 Million dollars worth of wages and benefits for adults with disabilities within our community. This allows us to alleviate the state's burden. Nevada taxpayers receive approximately 30.4million in net subsidies annually due to a decrease in services demand.

The organization almost completely self-financed. Our business contracts, donors and fundraisers like the Magical Forest or the Las Vegas Great Santa Run account for nearly 70% of our funding. The people Opportunity Village provides services and programs are free to them.
