Gurdwara Baba Deep Singh Ji

This Gurdwara was incorporated in October 1998 and serves to the needs of the people located in Las Vegas, NV and surrounding areas. It was established to fulfill the following objectives:

To form a place to learn, practice and promote religious, cultural and social values based on the concept of One God and Universal Brotherhood as taught by the Sikh Gurus and Sri Guru Granth Sahib.

To arrange regular sessions on gurbani and to teach Sikh religious and cultural traditions.

To organize programs, to promote the Sikh religion and culture and to teach Sikh history and Punjabi language.

To establish educational programs and facilities for the development of children and youth.

Gurdwara Baba Deep Sigh Ji Temple Darbar Sahib, a place where people can gather to pray before the almighty WAHEGURU is known as a community. The Temple can be visited by anyone from all parts of the world. Sikhism holds that everyone is equal, and one Almighty is for all. Our Journey Gurdwara Baba Deep Singh was founded in 1990 as a dream. The Las Vegas Sangat felt the necessity to hold regular sangat even though it was small before we built our new structure.

We would have sangat and kirtan every Sunday in 50 families. Each family would prepare langar, and host the kirtan. The dream of building a functional gurdwara was never fulfilled. Two and half acres was purchased by the Las Vegas Sangat in 1995.

The Gurdwara would soon be built on this lot. It wasn't until 1998 that the Las Vegas Sangat elected a Board to push for the construction of the structure. The Las Vegas Sangat was led by these few people and started collecting funds to finish the structure. Many trips were made by the Board to California gurdwaras.

We were greeted with smiles and generosity at every gurdwara. Soon, building began on Gurdwara Baba Deep Singh. The Dodra Jap Tap Samagam, Gurdwara Baba Deep Singh's first program was held on August 12, 2000. In September 2000, Gurdwara Baba Deep Singh opened its doors.

The Las Vegas Sangat has achieved many achievements since then. Regularly, we have scheduled kirtan and Punjabi classes. We have also hosted Vaisakhi Melas for three consecutive years. Our melas were so popular that the community contributed enough to fully pay the mortgage.
