Las Vegas Sake Bars

The Best Sake Bars in Las Vegas Nevada

Now most people know that Sushi in Las Vegas is a HUGE thing - What most people don't know is that Vegas also as some very interesting Sake bars as well.  Some are on the Strip, but a few are off the Vegas Strip as well

In recent years, the appreciation for premium sake has been steadily growing in our crazy , crazy city. While it’s not as widely known compared to other liquors, there are plenty of establishments around the world that have taken note of this trend and catered to it. Unfortunately, most of these haven’t made their way to Las Vegas just yet (although we have amazing Japanese food). However, there are still a few places in town where you can enjoy an authentic glass of the smooth rice wine. Here’s a list of some of the best Sake bars in Las Vegas.   It's by no means a Conclusive list, but it will definitely get you started down the right path:

#1 Sake Las Vegas (the Best)

This is by far the most authentic Sake bar in the city (hands down). Owned by an actual Japanese family who have been making the drink for over 100 years, the bar is stocked with a variety of premium Sake varieties (ranging from $19-150 per bottle). Note that inflation may mean the prices are higher when you get there, so of course, call before you go.  Sake Las Vegas is also the only bar in town that specializes in the art of Sake tasting flights.  Flights are a unique taster's tray that gives you 5 different varieties with a selection of small appetizers to give you a full Sake experience.  This is hands down my favorite Sake joint in town, simply because of the authenticity, story, and classic selection they offer to silly locals and tourists alike.

#2 Tekka Bar Handroll & Sake (Sushi + Sake)

While Tekka Bar may be most famous for their eel-filled handrolls, they also have an excellent Sake menu that’s worth checking out.   You'll likely be surprised by the large menu they have of both sushi + Sake.  They boast a large selection of both domestic and Japanese varieties, with some of their top picks including the Hakuraku Junmai, the Hakutsuru Junmai Daiginjo, and the Hakutsuru Pure Mizunotane. They also have affordable flights available for $15/glass, for the super adventurous playas. While the menu frequently changes, you can expect to sample a variety of aromatic Sakes with a common tea or citric flavor.

#3 Sushi and Sake Bar Las Vegas (Mainstream but Cool)

Sushi and Sake Bar is a hybrid restaurant that’s part sushi bar and part Sake bar. While the majority of their menu is focused on the latter, they still serve a few appetizers, salads, and desserts that have a light Sake kick in them.  Their Sake menu has a great selection of both domestic and imported varieties, with prices ranging from $9-$60 per bottle. They also offer a selection of Sake cocktails that can pair well with your meal (especially if you order the sushi. If you’re not sure which Sake to order, they have an app that lets you scan a barcode on each bottle to find out more information about it, so Google to your heart's content. They also offer Sake tastings, where you can sample 4 different Sakes for $20, but prices may vary so of course call before you go in.  In general I would recommend this place, but just keep in mind that it's not as traditional as the first two places on this list.

#4 Sake Sushi Bar Vegas (Cool but a bit Touristy)

This is a great place if you want to sample a variety of Sake cocktails, mocktails, and other non-alcoholic beverages at a not-so-hard-on-the-wallet venue.  I'll admit - this being a nightlife guide - that mocktails are not usually the priority, but at least there is something for everyone.  Their Sake menu is more novelty than anything, with a large selection of colorful, fruity, and sweet Sake concoctions that are sure to please the ladies, but maybe annoy the Sake purists. If you’re looking for a more traditional Sake experience, you can select from their wide range of premium Sake bottles, which are imported from Japan. They even offer a selection of small Sake tastings for $7, where you can sample 3 different Sakes.

Conclusion (Then Get Drinking!)

While you can enjoy Sake in many different forms, the best way to appreciate the drink is by trying it straight from the bottle. So if you’re in Las Vegas, get yourself to one of these Sake bars to try a taste of the East, and get Lost in Translation Tokyo-style.  Don't forget to tip your bartender!  Yes, tipping is not appropriate in Japan, but hey...........This is Vegas!
