About The Jewelers of Las Vegas

Established in 1976.

The Jewelers, Inc. was started back in October 1976 by the husband and wife team of Mordechai and Vicki Yerushalmi. It has since become a deep-rooted family business as their four children have each taken ownership roles in the company. The company opened its doors with a commitment to treating all customers who walked in like family by providing them with the best prices on diamonds and jewelry and by delivering superior service. Over the years, The Jewelers has steadfastly followed the same commitment. For this reason, The Jewelers of Las Vegas has been honored time and again by members of the Las Vegas community, including being voted Best Jewelry Store in 2013 by the readers of The Las Vegas Review Journal for the 7th time since 2008, being named Best Jewelry Store by the Nevada Business Journal and being named one of North America's Leading Watch Retailers by International Watch Magazine in 2013 for the 9th consecutive year.

The Jewelers, Inc. is the Flagship for an established chain that provides engagement rings, jewelry, and watches repairs. In October 1976, the husband-and-wife team of Vicki Yerushalmi and Mordechai Yerushalmi founded The Jewelers, Inc. Since then, it has been a family-owned business with their four children taking ownership of the company. It was founded with the intention of treating every customer who walks in as family and offering them superior service and great prices for diamonds. The Jewelers has maintained this commitment over the years.

The Jewelers of Las Vegas regularly receives visits from long-standing customers as well as second and third generation customers. They are proud to be the place that their grandparents and parents trusted for their jewelry, watches, and diamonds. The Jewelers Inc.'s history is a story about the American Dream. It has been family-owned and operated since 1976.

Vicki Yerushalmi and Mordechai, who had been married less than two years ago, moved to America with almost nothing and settled in Las Vegas to search for opportunities. The couple opened their first jewelry shop on Western Avenue in 1976 with just four showcases. Fast growth was fueled by the couple's dedication to providing great customer service and excellent value. The word-of-mouth spread quickly throughout the area and customers began to make The Jewelers their primary and sole stop for their jewelry needs.

Mordechai gained a reputation for treating his customers as family. Mordechai, along with everyone else at The Jewelers, continue to treat every customer like family, providing them outstanding service, quality and value. Although the corporate headquarters and flagship stores have been moved to different locations over time, they still stand in the exact same place where Vicki and Mordechai opened their doors 35 years ago. Many memorable events from The Jewelers' early days are etched in Mordechai's memory.

He will always remember the December 1976 phone call by Elvis Presley to Mordechai, asking him to send several rings over to his room at The Las Vegas Hilton. In 1979, Jewels by Mordechai opened at The Dunes Hotel Casino. This was just a few years after the initial expansion of the company into Las Vegas' casino market. Mordechai opened additional shops in several of the top casinos at the time such as The Tropicana Hotel or The Desert Inn, after the Dunes store was a success.

In the 1970s and 1980s Mordechai, The Jewelers, continued to provide unique jewelry items for many Las Vegas celebrities, including Wayne Newton and Liberace. They also provided pieces of jewelry for the popular television show Vegas, as well as Robert Urich, its star. The company's founder was also well-known for its television ads featuring many famous celebrities including boxing champ Larry Holmes. These commercials were a part of Las Vegas' classic culture and Jimmy Kimmel, a comedian and television host highlighted them as one of the best memories of his stay in Las Vegas.

The Jewelers and Mordechai have been famous over the years for having many celebrities customers. These include Britney Spears and Chuck Norris. The 1990s were another pivotal time for Mordechai & The Jewelers Inc., when the film crew for Casino approached Mordechai unexpectedly and asked him if he would provide the watches and jewelry for the film. Mordechai was given a small speaking role, as the jeweler who was threatened by the burglary of his jewelry shop.

They went on to supply jewelry for many other films such as Analyze This, Rush Hour 2, and Rush Hour 2. Las Vegas saw explosive growth towards the end of that decade, and well into the next millennium with the opening of new megaresorts every year. As Nevada's top jeweler and entrepreneur, Mordechai understood the value of supporting the community in which he worked. The Jewelers opened new luxury boutiques at many of Strip's top resorts.

Venetzia Fine Jewelry opened at The Venetian's first store in 1999. Soon after, other fine stores were added in Mandalay Bay and Caesars Palace. The Yerushalmi Family currently has 9 stores in the Las Vegas Valley. This includes the flagship Jewelers of Las Vegas location on Western Avenue.

There are also two more local Jewelers of Las Vegas locations in Summerlin, Henderson, and Red Rock Casino Resort Spa. The Jewelers of Las Vegas is located inside Mandalay Place. Vicci Fine Jewelry can be found in the Forum Shops at Caesars Palace. These locations were featured on a number of television programs, such as Storage Wars, The Real Housewives of Atlanta and CSI.

The company has seen another important transition in the past decade, with Mordechai & Vicki welcoming their children to the business. Benny, Leor, and Elad were the three children of this couple. Natalie was their second child.

They have taken ownership and worked side-by-side their father. Many of Mordechai's first customers brought their third and fourth generations along to shop at the jeweler that they trusted. They are well-respected as The Jewelers is often praised for their superior customer service, and dedication to providing the best quality products. International Watch Magazine named The Jewelers as one of North America's Top Watch Retailers in 2005.

It was also the first Nevada one-a prestigious recognition that the company has received each year. The Yerushalmi Family and The Jewelers received a special award from The Las Vegas Review Journal when they voted The Jewelers of Las Vegas as the Best Jewelry Store. This honor has continued every year. The Jewelers is Nevada's most trusted jeweler, and it shouldn't surprise that they have been doing so for more than 35 years.

The Jewelers, Inc.'s story has been long and fascinating over the years. It is also intertwined in with Las Vegas' unique history. The Yerushalmi family, as well as everyone at The Jewelers, Inc., have been unwavering in their commitment to customers and the Las Vegas community. It is a family tradition, which many would consider it.

The Jewelers, Inc. believes that community involvement is as vital as taking care of customers. Mordechai and his team at the Jewelers are incredible. My wife jammed her finger and needed to have her wedding and engagement rings cut off. Mordechai took care of it in less than a minute and made sure my wife was comfortable the whole time. They also were able to repair and resize the ring so it would fit once the swelling went down and the fing... see more
