Art Goldstrom, then 15, bought his first Ford. This is the beginning of our story at The Nostalgia Street Rods Museum. This car marked the start of a love affair that would last 65 years and result in the museum's classic 180-car collection. Goldstrom was there to help. Art will always remember Shirley Goldstrom being a mentor and friend.
Sheri Goldstrom, Shirley's daughter, took over the family business. Sheri refers to her mother as a friend and mentor. She continues to carry on the tradition of helping others by volunteering with various local charities. Over the years, many charities and non-profits have been supported by the Goldstrom family.
Pawtastic Friends is a favorite of Sheri. They train and prepare homeless dogs for their forever homes. Speedway Children s Charities is another charity that provides children with the resources they need to create a brighter and better future. SHERI GOLDSTROM Sheri Goldstrom is at the heart of every Goldstrom family venture.
She oversees all contracted work and maintenance. Sheri was a 1984 graduate of Gorman High School. Sheri would be exposed to the demands of her parents' businesses, which led her to a deeper understanding of business management and business. Sheri was married to Pat Harris in 1986 and they had two daughters, Amanda and Courtney.
Sheri earned her Commercial Driver s License in 1986. She began to haul scrap from demolitions of Goldstrom Enterprises' Stardust, Dunes and Hacienda casinos and hotels. Sheri is proud to be able to drive a 1968 twin-stick Peterbilt. A photo of her office depicts her next to the 1989 18 Wheel Peterbilt.
Tragically, Sheri's involvement in family business was accelerated by the deaths of both her brothers Rick, who died aged 30, and Randy, who died age 32. After her brothers' deaths, Sheri moved closer to her mother. Her mother is what she believes was the key to the success of the family. Sheri viewed her mother-daughter relationship more as a mentoring role.
Shirley taught Sheri how to work hard in the field, and the importance of critical intelligence at the office. Sheri took over the bidding and interbusiness PR responsibilities in 1996. Sheri benefited from Art's business strategy and good senses. Sheri stated that much of her skills are a result of his support and hard work.
Sheri is passionate about antiques, cars and American artifacts from different eras. Although she is reluctant to pick a favorite of the 180 cars in the Goldstrom collection that are her favorites, when asked about them, she mentions a 1949 Chevy fastback, a 1932 Ford Periwinkle Purple roadster and a 1956 Ford Pickup. Despite all her talents, Sheri has never lost the basic emotion of beautiful cars, and Sheri still organizes and coordinates the museum and car collection with great skill and thought. It is difficult to talk about ARTGOLDSTROM ARTGOLDSTROM.
It is easy to get lost in the amazing details of his life. He started out as a Lincoln Welder jack-of all trades man and then moved gravel around the construction sites. Then, he and Shirley founded Goldstrom Enterprises which was a general contractor and demolition company. This business has had notable success.
They have a wonderful collection of antiques and cars. It is easy to lose sight of one aspect about him, and that is the hard work he did. Art Goldstrom is not a complex man. He says little but his thoughts are based on his solid work ethic.
His knowledge of the local social scene is impressive and his humor fits seamlessly into the complexities of fiction and fact. Art Goldstrom is a brilliant businessman and hot rodder. SHIRLEY OLDSTROM SHIRLEY OLDSTROM SHIRLEY is an anonymous woman who quietly collects era-specific antiques, artifacts, memorabilia, and other items that connect the worlds art, entertainment and music. Her parents had a pig farm in Denver, Colorado.
She fondly remembers that. When she was just nine years old, her father died. Her mother then moved in with her parents to San Bernardino (California) when she was nine. Although her mother was still living with her, her maternal grandparents took over her custody.
Shirley, her mom, and her stepdad, a refrigerator technician and salesman, moved with her mother to Las Vegas. Arthur L. Goldstrom was just sixteen years old when she first met her husband. Shirley started her journey of success at the age of 18 with her first child.
Now she is joining Art to celebrate their 60th year anniversary. Shirley, a successful retail entrepreneur who owned a handbag shop over six years and a Flamingo/Windmill dress shop for five years. Shirley was politically savvy and made friends with governors and judges. She would also regularly attend policy meetings in her localities.
For two years, she was a leader in Women in Construction. Shirley was an excellent bowler who competed both locally and regionally for over 30 years. She also won numerous 300-game competitions. Shirley was the one who steered the collection and made the decision that Art shouldn't continue to repair and sell antique cars and hot rods.
Shirley's collection of more than 180 cars was started at that time. Shirley's museum collection became secondary, despite being a result of her historical knowledge and collection. Art is proud of her success in their joint ventures. Shirley and Art were blessed with three children: Rick, Sheri, and Randy.
Art and she both suffered the grief of Rick's early death. However, Randy s children Chris and Art, Jr., were her great-grandchildren. Sheri presented Art and her with Courtney and Amanda, two of her granddaughters. Shirley is active in supporting the Boys and Girls Clubs of Southern Nevada and the American Parkinson Disease Association of Southern Nevada.
She also crochets blankets and hats for patients with local cancer. Sign up for our updates and news Thank you! Your submission was received. Contact Email
