Set in the Downtown area off I-515, this storied casino hotel from the 1940s is a 7-minute walk from the Fremont Street Experience and an 8-minute walk from The Mob Museum.

Understated rooms offer flat-screen TVs, free Wi-Fi, and tea and coffeemakers. Some rooms feature vintage 1940s decor and/or living rooms. Suites add luxurious or retro decor. Some have whirlpool tubs.

Downtown's cornerstone, the El Cortez, is a symbol of Las Vegas classic Las Vegas. We are one of last family-run casinos and we don't have to worry about the pitfalls or constraints that corporate ownership can place on us.

We have been part of the neighborhood since 1941. Our neighborhood is part of us. It's evident in the smiling face of bartenders and in the sound of classic coin slot machines. The El Cortez Hotel & Casino is the longest-running casino and hotel in Las Vegas.

Although it has been renovated several times, its facade remains the same as when the neon signs were installed. The spirit of Vegas classic is alive and well here. Our building was the first to be added to the National Register of Historic Places on February 22nd 2013.
