The Sundae is a popular street food specialty in South Korea (and North). It can be bought at street stalls and restaurants. The locals love this stuffed blood sausage.

Soondae is made with squid or other protein-rich ingredients. However, the most common form of the sausage is made by mixing pork liver with cellophane noodles, glutinous rice, and barley. This makes for a dense and slightly chewy body. Soondae is for you if you enjoy mochi-textured, chewy things and blood.

Although the sausage has a mild taste, it is flavored with sesame seeds and chili powder. It is very tasty. It is one of my favorite things to stuff into an intestinal case.

soondae can be found in Korean markets under the prepared food section. It's fine to eat fresh and unrefrigerated. However, once the sausage is refrigerated, the pieces become harder and more difficult to chew.
