Red Rock Canyon is an area I love. It has many beautiful hiking trails and stunning views. Turtlehead Peak is worth a challenge if you are looking to take on a challenging hike.

It's tougher than you might think. If you aren't in good shape, it will be difficult. But you have great views. Get there early to avoid the crowds. Search for HikingGuy Turtlehead peak for an easy-to-use trail guide and video.

The trail begins within the scenic 13 mile drive. It's a steep walk, so it is not recommended for beginners. You can see all of Las Vegas from the summit.

A challenging trail with great views can be found in the area. It is possible to get slick during winter.

It's not an easy hike, but it is worth the effort. The first part of the hike takes you through the desert and features many cool rock formations. Next comes a steep climb with beautiful views. We stopped for lunch at the top and found shade. At the summit there are notes left by previous hikers. Going back down was much easier.

It was great fun, challenging enough for your legs to work out but not too difficult that you can all make it up the mountain together. The views from the top were amazing and well worth it.

WOW! What a stunning trail. There are a few other routes that can be taken up the mountain. We did try following them, but they were too steep. Hiking poles will help you get to the top. Once at the top, you'll have a 360-degree view overlooking the area and even a glimpse of Vegas.
