Red rock is one of my favourite trails. It took us less than one hour to complete the trail. I highly recommend passing the tanks to enjoy a stunning view.

The Calico Tanks Trail was completed in December 2022. It was pleasant (around 20 C). It was warm in the sun but it felt cool when it was shaded. It was surprising to find chunks of ice higher up on the hike, which we were not expecting! Hiking shoes are recommended. Others may prefer hiking sticks. The hiking can be difficult. Beautiful views of t... see more

CalicoTanks was our last hike on our RedRockCanyon adventure. I am often asked why we go hiking. The answer is simple. The trail leads to the Tanks Trail. Distance: 2 miles. RT elevation gain 406 feet. Parking lot. Time required. We stopped at the Tanks Trail to enjoy the view and snack. PS Calico Tanks Trail is not the same as Calico Basin.

It's more like a climb rather than a walk, but it is worth the effort for the spectacular view at the finish

Continue on to the end of the gene s Trail. The trail will take you to the Kraft Mountain parking lot. This hike is difficult and takes 2-3 hours.

You should plan to spend 2 hours hiking at a slow pace, with some time for resting at the overlook. The trail is well-marked and includes sections that navigate sandstone. Some sections also have steps. Shoes with good tread are recommended. Light gloves and shoes can be used for grasping the surrounding stones. There are many beautiful views along... see more

It is a moderately difficult trail leading to a spectacular view of Las Vegas Strip. There are some slippery parts. You will need to climb some rocks at the end. I did this in December, and it was very warm.

The trail ends with a beautiful view. It took us 45 minutes to reach the view, and 45 to return. There were plenty of shade on portions of the trail. We had a wonderful time.

This hike is a relatively easy one with minimal scrambling. There's no water in the summer, so the fall spring season is best. You will see beautiful views all the way.

It is a beautiful area of geology and can be reached in just 2 hours. If you enjoy exploring, take 3 hours to reach the summit.

Red Rock's favorite trail. It starts out easy with red sand and gravel. Then the trail becomes more difficult as you climb large boulders. Some sections have man-made steps made of large rocks.

There is a great trail up to the summit of the rock. Once you reach the top, there will be a spectacular view over the Red Rock Canyon National Park as well as on Vegas. It's not difficult but bring plenty water.
