Natural wonder with red rocks draws those looking to hike, rock climb or go for a scenic drive.
Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area lies in Nevada’s Mojave Desert. It’s known for geological features such as towering red sandstone peaks and the Keystone Thrust Fault, as well as Native American petroglyphs. Panoramic viewing spots dot the 13-mile Scenic Drive. The sheltered Ice Box Canyon has seasonal waterfalls. To the south, Spring Mountain Ranch State Park features historic buildings and hiking trails.

Had a blast! Beautiful scenery. There are many trails that range in difficulty. We went to Calico Basin which is less difficult but a fun hike. So many geological phenomena, wildlife, and rock climbers to see. My dog joined me and he loved it! If you bring your dog, be prepared for a lot of red dust to come home with you, I suggest bringing a towel for the car ride home. Overall a wonderful experience!

Absolutely breath taking. With Military ID card you get in for free for the scenic drive. I went to Calico Basin my first day, I just did the board walk and wished I had gone more prepared for the climbs. I guess I'll just have to go back. I feel the most at home here, it is truly incredible. I did the scenic drive my second day. It was gorgeous and I highly recommend it. I've been to a lot if places but my trips to Red Rock left me feeling at awe and in connection with the world. My trips to RR helped me decide what to major in. My tips. Full tank of gas Plenty of water, even in the winter Know your physical limits What you pack in,pack it out And enjoy.

This place was awesome. A great place just out of Vegas to go for the day. Lots to see and do. A hikers paradise. For those that do not want to hike it is a great drive-through the park. The park has many pull offs to view nature's beauty. We'll be back. Has a very nice interpretive area with bathrooms and picnic tables. Also has lots of handicap areas. The Rangers are very friendly and willing to let you know all about desert living habitat for animals. They even have names for some of the local residents around the center.

Gorgeous drive or hike just minutes from the strip. Weather was decent so we rented a convertible and pulled out at every stop for pics and a stroll. Visitor center has a cute gift shop, nice interpretive displays an ample parking area where many quail and ground squirrels were present. If you want to slow your roll in Vegas this is a must see scenic loop. Plan accordingly for weather—drinks, sunscreen, hat in heat. Be aware of flash flood risk when hiking in rain.
